Why Join? - DTMC an organization of businesses and professionals who are dedicated to helping further the interests of our downtown businesses and overall community to make Monroe City and the surrounding area a better place to live and work. Any citizen who is interested in helping develop the area (which means more opportunities, more revenue, more business, more jobs, and better living for everyone) is eligible to be a member of DTMC.

Members Make the Difference! – DTMC’s most important assets are our members. They are people just like you who realize that through the collective efforts of the organization, they can accomplish much more than they can individually. DTMC “friends” create a pool of resources and talent from which ideas, energy and know-how can be drawn to successfully build a vibrant, growing community and healthy business environment.

Events and Activities - DTMC sponsors annual awards, meetings, activities, festivals and more. The organization holds an Annual Celebration, maintains social media feeds and hosts the website.

What is a "Friend?"

The mission of DTMC is “to promote and improve our quality of living, enhance our sense of community and preserve the integrity of our small-town culture.” We believe that everyone deserves access to a vibrant neighborhood – a place that has a thriving local economy, is rich in character and features inviting public spaces that make residents and visitors feel that they belong.

DTMC is driven by volunteers in four areas: organization, economic development, design and promotions. We are actively seeking individuals who are interested in assisting with this multi-faceted approach to activities and business development. All these endeavors require time and money. As we look looks at activities and events, we plan to continue to enhance our business façade grants and continue to work towards our mural master plan.

We are asking anyone interested to consider becoming a 2024 “Friend of DTMC”. This membership investment allows you to support your local community and participate in our efforts to improve our town. Currently, the board is exploring new community events and working on enhancing our grants program. To date, DTMC has granted over $70,000 to assist businesses in improving their façade. We continue to explore options for enhancing this and other programs.

Please consider becoming a “Friend of DTMC” through a 501(c)3, tax deductible contribution. All champions will be recognized at community events as well as through media recognition throughout the year. You will also be invited to our quarterly and annual meetings where we will share our successes and seek input for the future of our organization.

Bronze ($50): Includes name/organization listed on website and invitation to all events.

Silver ($100): Includes name/organization listed on website, social media shoutouts and invitation to all events.

Gold ($250): Includes name/organization listed on website, social media shoutouts, marketing at events and invitation to all events.

Platinum ($500+): Includes name/organization listed on website, social media shoutouts, marketing at events and free entry to all events.

Becoming a "Friend of DTMC" is more than a gesture of support; it is an investment in the future of our community. Through a 501(c)3, your contribution is tax-deductible, and as a champion for our cause, you will be duly recognized at community events and through media platforms throughout the year. Moreover, you will have the privilege of attending our quarterly and annual meetings, where we will share our successes and eagerly seek input for the future of our organization.
